Minea, regroupe la majeure partie des activit\u00e9s de recherche sur les plasmas basse pression du LPGP. Cette \u00e9quipe dispose d\u2019un large parc de r\u00e9acteurs plasma sous vide concernant les activit\u00e9s \u2018D\u00e9charges et Surfaces\u2019 (D&amp;S), mais \u00e9galement de nombreux mod\u00e8les de divers plasmas, pour les activit\u00e9s \u2018Th\u00e9orie et Mod\u00e9lisation des Plasmas\u2019 (TMP).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Les \u00e9tudes scientifiques men\u00e9es dans l\u2019\u00e9quipe TMP &#8211; D&amp;S concernent la physique des d\u00e9charges et les m\u00e9canismes de d\u00e9p\u00f4t de puissance permettant l\u2019ionisation des gaz et les r\u00e9actions engendr\u00e9es. Ces \u00e9tudes visent la compr\u00e9hension des m\u00e9canismes gouvernant ses d\u00e9charges permettant de ma\u00eetriser et de contr\u00f4ler les plasmas, allant de la conception de nouveaux proc\u00e9d\u00e9s jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 l\u2019analyse des d\u00e9p\u00f4ts effectu\u00e9s par voie plasma. Ses r\u00e9alisations puisent dans les connaissances acquises soit par la caract\u00e9risation exp\u00e9rimentale du plasma, soit par le biais de la mod\u00e9lisation et des simulations num\u00e9riques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Les recherches de l\u2019\u00e9quipe TMP-D&amp;S concernent la production, la compr\u00e9hension, l\u2019am\u00e9lioration et l\u2019optimisation des plasmas froids, mais \u00e9galement la production de particules charg\u00e9es (\u00e9lectron et ions), ainsi que des esp\u00e8ces actives (m\u00e9tastables, radicaux, etc.) en phase gazeuse ou en interaction avec des surfaces. Avec la r\u00e9duction des dimensions du plasma (micro-plasma) certains travaux concernent les d\u00e9charges pouvant fonctionner \u00e0 la pression atmosph\u00e9rique, alors que d\u2019autres concernent les d\u00e9charges sous vide (sans gaz inject\u00e9). Privil\u00e9giant toujours une d\u00e9marche fondamentale, les recherches men\u00e9es au sein de cette \u00e9quipe d\u00e9bouchent r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement sur des applications telles que le d\u00e9p\u00f4t de couches minces, le traitement plasma des polym\u00e8res, le contr\u00f4le de la combustion, ou la conception de nouveaux dispositifs et proc\u00e9d\u00e9s plasmas. Certains travaux se placent \u00e0 l\u2019interface entre les plasmas froids et les plasmas chauds, tels que les recherches relatives au projet ITER o\u00f9 des plasmas froids sont cr\u00e9\u00e9s par des particules de tr\u00e8s haute \u00e9nergie (injecteur de neutres, plasma de bord, etc.), le rayonnement ionisant (synchrotron) ou la tenue sous tr\u00e8s hautes tensions (MegaVolts).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-style-default has-light-background-background-color has-background has-global-padding is-layout-constrained wp-container-core-group-is-layout-3 wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\" style=\"padding-top:60px;padding-bottom:60px;padding-left:0\">\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Objectifs fondamentaux et applications<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u2019objectif de nos \u00e9tudes porte sur la compr\u00e9hension des m\u00e9canismes fondamentaux permettant l\u2019ionisation des gaz \u00e0 basse pression, la cr\u00e9ation du plasma, soit \u00e0 travers une d\u00e9charge \u00e9lectrique, soit par l\u2019interaction des rayonnements \u00e9nerg\u00e9tiques (ions, \u00e9lectrons, photons avec un gaz), soit par la d\u00e9tente d\u2019un gaz (vapeur) sous vide tout en appliquant de tr\u00e8s forts champ \u00e9lectriques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Historiquement, deux types de d\u00e9charge sont \u00e9tudi\u00e9es dans l\u2019\u00e9quipe TMP-D&amp;S : magn\u00e9tron et microondes. Minea, brings together most of the LPGP's low-pressure plasma research activities. This team has a large number of vacuum plasma reactors for the 'Discharges and Surfaces' (D&amp;S) activities, as well as numerous models of various plasmas for the 'Plasma Theory and Modelling' (TMP) activities.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p><br>The scientific studies carried out by the TMP - D&amp;S team concern the physics of discharges and the power deposition mechanisms that enable the ionisation of gases and the reactions generated. These studies are aimed at understanding the mechanisms governing these discharges, enabling plasmas to be mastered and controlled, from the design of new processes to the analysis of plasma deposits. Its work draws on knowledge acquired either through experimental characterisation of the plasma or through modelling and numerical simulations.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p><br>The TMP-D&amp;S team's research concerns the production, understanding, improvement and optimisation of cold plasmas, but also the production of charged particles (electrons and ions), as well as active species (metastables, radicals, etc.) in the gas phase or in interaction with surfaces. With the reduction in the dimensions of the plasma (micro-plasma), some work concerns discharges that can operate at atmospheric pressure, while others concern vacuum discharges (without injected gas). Although the research carried out by this team always favours a fundamental approach, it regularly leads to applications such as the deposition of thin films, plasma treatment of polymers, combustion control and the design of new plasma devices and processes. Some of the work is at the interface between cold and hot plasmas, such as research on the ITER project, where cold plasmas are created by very high-energy particles (neutral injector, on-board plasma, etc.), ionising radiation (synchrotron) or very high voltages (MegaVolts).<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/div>\n<!-- \/wp:column --><\/div>\n<!-- \/wp:columns --><\/div>\n<!-- \/wp:group -->\n\n<!-- wp:group {\"className\":\"is-style-default\",\"style\":{\"spacing\":{\"padding\":{\"top\":\"60px\",\"left\":\"0\",\"bottom\":\"60px\"}}},\"backgroundColor\":\"light-background\",\"layout\":{\"type\":\"constrained\"}} -->\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-style-default has-light-background-background-color has-background\" style=\"padding-top:60px;padding-bottom:60px;padding-left:0\"><!-- wp:heading {\"level\":1} -->\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fundamental objectives and applications<\/h1>\n<!-- \/wp:heading -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>The aim of our studies is to understand the fundamental mechanisms that enable the ionisation of gases at low pressure and the creation of plasma, either by means of an electrical discharge, or by the interaction of energetic radiation (ions, electrons, photons with a gas), or by the expansion of a gas (vapour) in a vacuum while applying very strong electric fields.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p><br>Historically, the TMP-D&amp;S team has studied two types of discharge: magnetron and microwave. Ses r\u00e9alisations puisent dans les connaissances acquises soit par la caract\u00e9risation exp\u00e9rimentale du plasma, soit par le biais de la mod\u00e9lisation et des simulations num\u00e9riques.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p><br>Les recherches de l\u2019\u00e9quipe TMP-D&amp;S concernent la production, la compr\u00e9hension, l\u2019am\u00e9lioration et l\u2019optimisation des plasmas froids, mais \u00e9galement la production de particules charg\u00e9es (\u00e9lectron et ions), ainsi que des esp\u00e8ces actives (m\u00e9tastables, radicaux, etc.) en phase gazeuse ou en interaction avec des surfaces. Avec la r\u00e9duction des dimensions du plasma (micro-plasma) certains travaux concernent les d\u00e9charges pouvant fonctionner \u00e0 la pression atmosph\u00e9rique, alors que d\u2019autres concernent les d\u00e9charges sous vide (sans gaz inject\u00e9). Privil\u00e9giant toujours une d\u00e9marche fondamentale, les recherches men\u00e9es au sein de cette \u00e9quipe d\u00e9bouchent r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement sur des applications telles que le d\u00e9p\u00f4t de couches minces, le traitement plasma des polym\u00e8res, le contr\u00f4le de la combustion, ou la conception de nouveaux dispositifs et proc\u00e9d\u00e9s plasmas.
