Il d\u00e9veloppe ses travaux dans le domaine de la recherche fondamentale, exp\u00e9rimentale et th\u00e9orique.<br><br>Les applications qui en sont issues concernent principalement<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em>L&rsquo;environnement<\/em> : destruction de polluants atmosph\u00e9riques ou agents bact\u00e9riologiques, st\u00e9rilisation et d\u00e9contamination de surfaces, contr\u00f4le de la combustion, d\u00e9sherbage plasma.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Les lasers \u00e0 ultra-haute intensit\u00e9<\/em> et leur interaction avec des plasmas : sources de rayonnement, acc\u00e9l\u00e9ration d&rsquo;\u00e9lectrons au GeV, acc\u00e9l\u00e9ration d&rsquo;ions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>L&rsquo;\u00e9nergie par fusion contr\u00f4l\u00e9e par confinement magn\u00e9tique <\/em>: technologie pour ITER<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Les mat\u00e9riaux <\/em>: synth\u00e8se de films ultra-minces, d\u00e9p\u00f4t, traitement de m\u00e9tal et de polym\u00e8res, synth\u00e8se de poudre et de mat\u00e9riaux micro- et nano-structur\u00e9s, nettoyage de surface, etc.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Les transports<\/em> : contr\u00f4le de la combustion, propulsion par plasma.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>La r\u00e9duction de la consommation d&rsquo;\u00e9nergie <\/em>: sources lumineuses \u00e0 haut rendement, photo-tribologie.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Contr\u00f4le des proc\u00e9d\u00e9s a\u00e9rosols <\/em>: quantification de la charge et de la taille, s\u00e9lectivit\u00e9, m\u00e9trologie, nanoparticules c\u0153ur-coquille (core-shell);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Sources d\u2019\u00e9nergie focalis\u00e9es pour proc\u00e9d\u00e9s : <\/em>faisceaux d\u2019\u00e9lectrons, lasers, mise en forme et caract\u00e9risation des faisceaux, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Install\u00e9 dans les locaux de la Facult\u00e9 des Sciences d\u2019Orsay de l&rsquo;Universit\u00e9 de Paris-Saclay, le LPGP est le plus ancien laboratoire universitaire de physique des plasmas de France. Il est aussi un des plus importants avec un effectif de 60 personnes.<br><br>Laboratoire g\u00e9n\u00e9raliste, les activit\u00e9s du LPGP concernent d&rsquo;une part les plasmas chauds avec une activit\u00e9 phare autour de l&rsquo;interaction laser-plasma \u00e0 tr\u00e8s haute intensit\u00e9 et l\u2019acc\u00e9l\u00e9ration laser-plasma, et d&rsquo;autre part, les plasmas \u00e0 basse temp\u00e9rature dans des situations hors \u00e9quilibre. L&rsquo;int\u00e9r\u00eat de ces derniers tient au fait que les diff\u00e9rentes esp\u00e8ces pr\u00e9sentes (\u00e9lectrons, ions, atomes ou mol\u00e9cules neutres) ont des \u00e9nergies tr\u00e8s diff\u00e9rentes permettant de conjuguer ionisation du milieu gazeux, forte r\u00e9activit\u00e9 des esp\u00e8ces form\u00e9es et faible temp\u00e9rature des particules lourdes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le plasma est un milieu gazeux constitu\u00e9, au moins partiellement, de particules charg\u00e9es (\u00e9lectrons et ions) qui lui conf\u00e8re des propri\u00e9t\u00e9s particuli\u00e8res en pr\u00e9sence de champs \u00e9lectriques et\/ou magn\u00e9tiques. L\u2019univers est tr\u00e8s majoritairement constitu\u00e9 de mati\u00e8re \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tat de plasmas (\u00e9toiles, soleil, poussi\u00e8res interstellaires, magn\u00e9tosph\u00e8re, foudre\u2026). Le plasma est utilis\u00e9 pour diff\u00e9rentes applications depuis les travaux sur de nouvelles sources d\u2019\u00e9nergie avec la fusion thermonucl\u00e9aire aux nouvelles technologies (micro\u00e9lectronique, \u00e9clairage, d\u00e9p\u00f4t et traitement de mat\u00e9riaux, propulsion plasma, d\u00e9pollution et traitement de It is also among the largest, with a staff of about 60.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p><br>As a generalist laboratory, LPGP's activities focus on hot and cold plasmas. The leading topics in hot plasma focus on ultra-high intensity laser-plasma interaction and laser-plasma acceleration, while the studies in low-temperature plasmas concern out-of-equilibrium situations. The interest of the latter lies in the fact that the various species present (electrons, ions, atoms, or neutral molecules) have very different energies, enabling interesting combine features of the gaseous medium such as ionization, high reactivity of the species formed, and low temperature of the heavy particles, among many others.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Plasma is a gaseous medium that is at least partly ionized. Hence, the charged particles (electrons and ions) and their interaction with the electromagnetic fields and boundaries impose a special and sometimes unique behavior. Most of the universe comprises matter in<br>the plasma state (stars, sun, interstellar dust, magnetosphere, lightning, etc.). To study it, plasma was reproduced in the laboratory, and over the years, it has known a growing interest covering today a wide range of applications, as an alternative source of energy such as<br>thermonuclear fusion, to new technologies (bio-medicine, microelectronics, materials deposition and processing, plasma propulsion, gas treatment, pollution control, etc.).<\/p>\n<!-- Il est aussi un des plus importants avec un effectif de 60 personnes.<br><br>Laboratoire g\u00e9n\u00e9raliste, les activit\u00e9s du LPGP concernent d'une part les plasmas chauds avec une activit\u00e9 phare autour de l'interaction laser-plasma \u00e0 tr\u00e8s haute intensit\u00e9 et l\u2019acc\u00e9l\u00e9ration laser-plasma, et d'autre part, les plasmas \u00e0 basse temp\u00e9rature dans des situations hors \u00e9quilibre. L'int\u00e9r\u00eat de ces derniers tient au fait que les diff\u00e9rentes esp\u00e8ces pr\u00e9sentes (\u00e9lectrons, ions, atomes ou mol\u00e9cules neutres) ont des \u00e9nergies tr\u00e8s diff\u00e9rentes permettant de conjuguer ionisation du milieu gazeux, forte r\u00e9activit\u00e9 des esp\u00e8ces form\u00e9es et faible temp\u00e9rature des particules lourdes.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Le plasma est un milieu gazeux constitu\u00e9, au moins partiellement, de particules charg\u00e9es (\u00e9lectrons et ions) qui lui conf\u00e8re des propri\u00e9t\u00e9s particuli\u00e8res en pr\u00e9sence de champs \u00e9lectriques et\/ou magn\u00e9tiques. L\u2019univers est tr\u00e8s majoritairement constitu\u00e9 de mati\u00e8re \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tat de plasmas (\u00e9toiles, soleil, poussi\u00e8res interstellaires, magn\u00e9tosph\u00e8re, foudre\u2026). Le plasma est utilis\u00e9 pour diff\u00e9rentes applications depuis les travaux sur de nouvelles sources d\u2019\u00e9nergie avec la fusion thermonucl\u00e9aire aux nouvelles technologies
